POSSESSION OF FIREARMS ON CERTAIN PREMISES

There are certain locations where carrying a firearm is prohibited such as a bank, public school, or court.  A person  found in possession of a firearm in a prohibited location may face a misdemeanor charge and a potential sentence of up to 90 days in jail and $100 in fines.

FELON IN POSSESSION OF A FIREARM

If you are a felon, you must meet certain criteria before you are able to possess a firearm.  If you are found to possess a firearm without qualifying to do so, you could face a felony charge with a maximum sentence of 5 years imprisonment and up to $5,000 in fines.

CARRYING A FIREARM OR WEAPON WITH UNLAWFUL INTENT

If you are found to carry a firearm or other dangerous weapon with the intention to use it against somebody or to commit a crime, you could be facing a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than 5 years, or by a fine of not more than $2,500.00.
